Gather with the UW community at Mobius Hall for a special author talk with acclaimed photographer, Art Wolfe, ’75, who will share the stories behind the visuals in his latest book, “Acts of Faith: The Beauty of Belief.” Collected over 40 years of international travel, “Acts of Faith” presents a stunning portrait of global rituals, festivals, and other faith-based traditions.
- Optional book signing is scheduled to begin around 8 p.m.
- Attendees may present any Art Wolfe book for signing, new purchases or well-loved copies alike.
- Copies of “Acts of Faith” will be available for purchase.

Art Wolfe, ’75
With a photography career spanning five decades, Art Wolfe, ’75, has worked on every continent, in hundreds of locations, and on a dazzling array of projects. He graduated from the University of Washington with bachelor’s degrees in fine art and art education, studying under renowned professors including Jacob Lawrence.
Through a multi-faceted photographic mission that blends artistic and journalistic styles, Wolfe educates the viewer while documenting his subjects, a style shaped by his formal training in the arts and his deep love of the environment. Brimming with humor and anecdotes, his presentations deliver both an environmental message and the promise that following dreams with determination will lead to a life well lived.
Wolfe has released over 125 books. He has earned numerous honors, including University of Washington’s Alumnus Summa Laude Dignatus Award, The Mountaineers Adventure with Purpose Award, Nature’s Best Photographer of the Year Award, the North American Nature Photography Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Photographic Society of America’s Progress Medal.

In “Acts of Faith: The Beauty of Belief,” acclaimed photographer Art Wolfe, ’75, presents a stunning portrait of global rituals, festivals, and other faith-based traditions. Collected over 40 years of international travels, the images are full of energy and movement — swirling dervishes in Türkiye, monks in Bhutan, millions of pilgrims amassed on the banks of the Ganges — revealing profound insights into the human experience and myriad expressions of spirituality.
