TECHNOLOGIES BASED ON QUANTUM
INFORMATION ARE POISED TO TRANSFORM
COMPUTATION, COMMUNICATION AND
SENSING. IN THIS COURSE, STUDENTS
WILL HAVE HANDS ON ACCESS TO
QUANTUM HARDWARE TO EXPLORE
CONCEPTS INCLUDING QUBITS, QUBIT
CONTROL, SUPERPOSITION,
ENTANGLEMENT AND QUANTUM-SECURE
COMMUNICATION.
THE COURSE CONSISTS OF:
- INTRODUCTION/REVIEW OF THE
QUANTUM MECHANICS, QUANTUM
INFORMATION USING PYTHON-BASED
QUANTUM SOFTWARE (QUTIP AND
QISKIT).
- 4 QUANTUM EXPERIMENTS.

RANGE OF APPLICATIONS, SUCH AS WAKE
WORD DETECTION (ALEXA; SIRI, GOOGLE
AND IS INCREASINGLY RELEVANT GIVEN
THE PRESENCE OF IOT DEVICES
GLOBALLY. PORTING POWERFUL CLOUD-
LEVEL ML NETWORKS TO EDGE DEVICES
HAS THE POTENTIAL TO SIGNIFICANTLY
IMPROVE INFERENCE, CLASSIFICATION,
AND PREDICTION QUALITY IN NUMEROUS
EVERYDAY APPLICATIONS. BUT SUCH
