Home at last, back in Johnson Hall

Occupants of Johnson Hall were busy moving in to their renovated quarters this week. Judging by a sign seen in the building (below right), they were glad to be back. The Earth and Space Sciences Department, having now expanded, is the sole department occupying the building.

Above, Tim Ziemba, research scientist/engineer for Earth and Space Sciences, checks out a newly-installed Vacuum Chamber, which is used to approximate the conditions of space for research. At right is a special floor design showing the “march of time,” which marks the movement of continents apart over the ages, from floor to floor.
