Conference for clinical researchers set for May 1

The annual clinical research and compliance conference for investigators, arranged by the UW School of Medicine, will be held from 7:15 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, May 1, at the Museum of History and Industry, at 2700 24th Ave E.

The conference is for physician investigators, postdoctoral fellows, and trainees at the UW School of Medicine, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC), Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center (CHRMC), and the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. Registration from other staff and faculty will be accepted on a space-available basis.

The course is designed to provide physician-investigators with practical information about regulatory requirements for conducting clinical research and recent initiatives to improve research oversight. The program is sponsored by the School of Medicine Continuing Medical Education Office, in conjunction with the Dean’s Office, FHCRC, and CHRMC. The emphasis this year will be on providing updated information and explaining changing regulations, such as the new HIPAA rules.
