Apple Cup Charter Bus

A bus full of Husky fans ( a few Cougs joined us) headed down to Pullman for the 101st Apple Cup which was dubbed the “snow globe” game. It was cold, wet and snowy but the Dawgs came home with the trophy for the 6th year in a row. Thank you to everyone who joined our inaugural Spokane to Pullman Apple Cup bus trip.

Hoopfest 2018

It was another successful year at Hoopfest, the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the country. UW sponsored four courts and a team comprised of dental students that just completed their first year here in Spokane.

The Spokane Center was open for the weekend handing swag out and we welcomed current and former students to cool off in our space, along with several Husky fans, parents and Hoopfest players.

College Success Foundation visits campus

The College Success Foundation (https://www.collegesuccessfoundation.org/wa/home) which provides a unique integrated system of supports and scholarships to inspire underserved, low-income students to finish high school, graduate from college and succeed in life. They brought just over 300 students from Spokane and Yakima to tour campus, hear about the admissions process and how to succeed in the process. This was the second year students from this organization visited campus and we had more students apply to UW last year (for Fall 2018 admission) than they ever have. Based on the feedback received from this trip we expect another record year of applications.

College Signing Days

Over the past month we’ve been busy attending college singing days across the East side of the state. From West Valley High school in Spokane to Hanford High School in Richland, students are excited to be heading off to UW this Fall. To help spread the Purple and Gold, yard signs were made to honor the #newhuskies2018 and welcome them to the #uwfamily.
