Reserved Permits are not allowed in the following spaces or lots:

- Truck Only Spaces
- University Vehicle Spaces
Reserved designator permit holders must pay when parking at meters and adhere to the posted time limit when parking in Load/Unload Zones.

OTHER PARKING PRODUCTS AVAILABLE FOR ASEs

* EXCHANGING STUDENT FOR EMPLOYEE U-PASS: No one may have both a student and an employee U-PASS at the same time. So, in order to exercise employee parking rights, ASEs must exchange their student U-PASS for an employee U-PASS. ASEs returning their unused student U-PASS on its paper carrier to Student Fiscal Services by the tuition deadline (third Friday of the quarter) are eligible to purchase an employee U-PASS instead of the student U-PASS. ASEs wishing to purchase an employee U-PASS, who have not returned the student U-PASS by the tuition deadline, may still return their student U-PASS sticker but will not receive a refund.
** To make it easier to identify yourself as an ASE, bring your UW Employee Identification Number (starting with an “8”) when you go to Commuter Services to purchase any of these parking-related products.
PPUP MEMBERS DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THE EI OR GATEHOUSE-ISSUED CARPOOL RATE
When you become a PPUP member with a U-PASS you are eligible for the PPUP Carpool rate when you park in the West Campus Garage but not elsewhere on campus including gatehouse-issed and E1 carpool parking. However, if you arrive on campus and enter the West Campus Garage as a PPUP carpool, you are charged the PPUP carpool rate. When you park elsewhere on campus on that same day there will be no additional charge. If you swipe your card first at either the E1 lot or a gatehouse you will be eligible only for the PPUP SOV rate.

Student Parking Permits
Info for Commuter Students
Commuter students may purchase Quarterly Day Student (SOV) Parking Permits for campus parking lots starting September 11. Additional student parking options in central and north campus lots have been added for 2006-2007. Parking must be purchased in person by cash, check, Husky Card™ Account or VISA/MasterCard. Permits cannot be purchased by mail. Parking lot assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis. The summer quarter price for a Single Occupancy Vehicle (SOV) Permit varies depending on the number of sessions covered. Motorcycle Permits cost the same all year long. For current parking fees check the Parking Fee Schedule.
Purchasing Procedures
When purchasing a permit, bring your valid Husky Card™ (student ID card) to either Commuter Services office. You'll need to know your driver's license number, vehicle make/model/year and vehicle license plate number in order to complete the permit application. If you purchase your parking permit within the first four weeks of an academic quarter or the first three weeks of the summer quarter, your U-PASS fee is waived.
Waiver of U-PASS Fee
The U-PASS fee is waived for students who purchase quarterly or academic year Single Occupancy Vehicle (SOV) Day Parking permits or motorcycle permits within the first four weeks of an academic quarter or the first three weeks of the summer quarter. When you pay your tuition include the U-Pass fee payment so no late fee is incurred.
The U-PASS is for your personal use only; take advantage of its many benefits. Simply retain the U-PASS sticker included in your registration packet and attach it to your Husky Card.
The names of student parking permit holders are sent to the Student Fiscal Services Office on a weekly basis. Lists of X and H lot permit holders are sent by the Family Housing Offices to Commuter Services for manual processing. A credit in the amount equal to the U-PASS fee should appear on the permit holder's tuition statement approximately 6 weeks after the purchase date. Commuter students may see their credits appear in a slightly shorter time frame.
Please wait at least six weeks from your purchase date before contacting Commuter Services to inquire about your waiver.
YOU CANNOT PURCHASE A PERMIT IF YOU HAVE ANY OUTSTANDING PARKING VIOLATION TICKETS .
Click here to read about renewing a permit.
Commuter Student Parking Permits
Student parking permits are valid only in an assigned lot during the day or in an assigned student overflow lot if their regularly-assigned lot is full. A list of overflow lot assignments is provided when you purchase your permit.
However, Student Quarterly SOV Parking Permits are valid in any unrestricted parking area between 4 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. weekdays and all day on weekends and holidays. Check the signs in the lot where you want to park for restrictions. During Husky basketball and football games, some or all East Campus lots are used for special event and/or public parking only.
Parking permits and U-PASSes are the property of the University of Washington and are not transferable. Prorated refunds are available on unexpired permits.

General permit information
For those campus residents who find it necessary to have a car on campus, your initial contact for obtaining a parking permit is determined by your living arrangements. Residence hall students, Stevens Court and Parkway Housing residents must apply for their parking permits online at: https://catalysttools.washington.edu/survey/newroom/37848. Blakeley and Laurel Village residents must apply for their parking permits at the Blakeley Village Community Center Office. Some campus residents will obtain their parking permits directly from their residence hall desk, while others will come to Commuter Services to actually purchase their permits.
Parking for residence hall students is limited. Parking request forms can be found at:
https://catalysttools.washington.edu/survey/newroom/37848
Students who complete a parking request form can receive a parking assignment as long as space is available. AFTER a student checks into their residence hall, they receive a parking assignment card in their campus mailbox. This application card will have an assignment issued by the residence hall desk. It is necessary for the student to take the application card to the Commuter Services Office (for N- and W- Lots) or to the Terry Hall Desk (for X- and H-Lots) to purchase a parking permit for their assigned lot. Any student parking on campus without a permit is subject to citation.
Residence hall students need to contact their residential hall desk, a part of Housing and Food Services with any questions they may have about the residence hall parking request form or parking assignment options.
Single Occupancy Vehicle (SOV) and Motorcycle Permits may be purchased by cash, check, VISA/MasterCard, or Husky Card™ Account. Permits cannot be issued or renewed if you have any outstanding UW parking violations.
Your U-PASS fee is waived if you purchase your parking permit early in the quarter. Both parking permits and U-PASSes are the property of the University of Washington and are not transferable.
For the safety of yourself and others, please immediately report any suspicious activity in or around campus parking areas. Contact UW Campus Police at (206) 543-9331 or dial 3-9331 from any campus phone. Remember, prevention is the best approach.
Quarterly/Academic Year Permits
Permits may be purchased for the entire academic year at the beginning of each quarter or on a quarter by quarter basis. We recommend purchasing your permit for the entire academic year to avoid lapses in permit validity and long lines at renewal time. Prorated refunds, calculated on a daily basis, are available on returned unexpired permits. When a parking space is assigned to you for the first time, you will receive a parking permit application to complete. Bring the completed form, the current vehicle registration, your driver's license and your valid Husky Card ™ (UW ID card) to Commuter Services (for N- and W-Lots) or to the Terry Hall Desk (for X- and H-Lots). If the vehicle is not registered in the same last name as yours, you also need a letter from the registered owner (who is also a family member) giving his/her permission to use the car.
Be sure to check the expiration date when you purchase your permit. As long as you renew before your current permit expires, you are assured the same parking area.
Summer Permits
Residence hall students obtain their summer parking assignment from their residence hall desks. Depending on the parking assignment, the parking permit is purchased from either the residence hall desk or Parking Services. Laurel Village and Blakeley Village residents apply for their parking at their Community Center office.Vehicle permit fees vary depending on the number of summer sessions needed. However, the cost of motorcycle permits remains the same year round. See the common parking fees section of the fee schedule for current prices.
