Accessible Entrances to the Meany Hall Studio Theatre

The Studio Theatre is a black box performance space located on the lower level of Meany Hall. It seats 238 and will be the venue of the Undergraduate Research Symposium Performing Arts Session on May 16, 2025. The main theatre entrance is located on the east side of the building in a sunken courtyard via stairs from Red Square.

For more accessible entry options, see the routes outlined below. 

Option 1: Vehicle Access via the Central Plaza Garage 

Recommended for patrons arriving by car or using accessible parking. 

  • Enter the Central Plaza Garage and park on Level C1, where accessible parking is available. 
  • Take the elevator directly from Level C1 to the Studio Theatre following the labeled sign on the wall in the garage. 
  • The Meany Studio Theatre entry from this route features a 35” wide doorway, a level approach, and automatic doors with paddle controls. 

Option 2: Pedestrian Access via Elevator Entry from Kane Hall 

Recommended for patrons approaching from Red Square or nearby campus buildings. 

  • Enter Kane Hall (the large cement building across from Meany Hall) through the doors furthest to the right side of the building.
  • Take the elevator located in the southeast corner of Kane Hall to Level C1 of the Central Parking Garage. 
  • Follow the sign on the wall in the parking garage with arrows pointing towards the Studio Theatre. Pass through the garage to reach the Meany Studio Theatre entrance, which is step-free and equipped with accessible doors. 

Wheelchair-accessible seating is available in the front row of the Studio Theatre.
