Applying as an undergraduate researcher (Jan. 6 – Feb. 12, 2026)
The application for the Undergraduate Research Symposium will open on January 6, 2026, and close (11:59 p.m.) on February 12, 2026. Below you can access resources to help encourage undergraduate researchers to consider applying for this opportunity!

This year we’ve collaborated with key departments to help gather information and resources for students in Drama and the Arts to see themselves at Symposium. These webpages include information on what types of projects might be presented, how they can be presented, and even references to previous presentations in these areas.

Events to support undergraduate researchers
The Office of Undergraduate Research hosts a series of events throughout the application and leading up to the day to support undergraduate researchers. Please feel free to share these events with students or sign-up!
- UW Undergraduate Research Symposium Information Sessions: These information sessions are designed to introduce curious students to the Symposium. The sessions go over the design of Symposium, the types of presentations, and core application information for a successful submission. The dates are Jan. 14 (in-person) and Jan. 20 (virtual), 2026. Learn more and register here.
- UW Undergraduate Research Symposium Abstract Writing Workshop: This workshop, led by senior undergraduate researchers / leaders, is a come-and-go event where students can bring in their planned submission abstract and receive feedback and tips to make a great abstract. The date is Tue., Jan. 27 (in-person). More information will be made available here.
- Poster and Oral Presentations + Communication: This workshop is designed to provide students presenting posters or oral presentations with tips, resources, and guidance for creating a successful poster/powerpoint. In addition, we explore considerations for great communcation. Dates are to be announced. More information will be made available here.
Day-of (May 15, 2026)
May 15, 2026, is a celebration of not only undergraduate research, but undergraduate researchers and their contributions and achievements in curiosity and creativity. Use the below assets to share and invite others to share in on this amazing occasion! Be sure to tag @UWUndergraduateResearch and use #HuskyResearch!
