Fraternities and sororities can provide students with a structured, supportive community that helps ease the transition to college life while reinforcing responsibility and personal growth. Members benefit from academic accountability, leadership development, mentorship, and meaningful service, all within organizations that operate under university policies and national standards focused on safety and conduct. Housing information
Fraternity and sorority housing is a long-standing tradition at UW, housing nearly 4,000 students in close-knit chapter communities. These residences bring together students from diverse backgrounds in active, shared living environments where members support one another academically and socially. Living in chapter housing offers an immediate sense of belonging and a home away from home.
