CE Community of Practice

As a way to build community and capacity among faculty and staff, a UW-wide listserv and series of conversations about community engagement was launched in Fall 2023. Entitled Cultivating Connections for Community Engagement, the purpose of these conversation spaces is to connect with others across the UW who practice, support, or are interested in community engagement; to explore what’s happening across the UW in this space; and to contribute ideas and perspectives for nurturing collective capacity for community-engaged research and learning.

Fall Quarter gathering: November 13, 2025:

• When/Where: November 13, 9:30-11am, via Zoom – please email jnfrdvsn@uw.edu to register!
• Who: UW faculty and staff who are interested in community-engaged research and/or learning.
• What:
  • Updates on the effort to build tri-campus capacity for community-engaged research and learning, including:
    • Compensating community partners
    • Promotion, Tenure, and Professional Development
    • Student Training
    • Community Connect UW (CCUW), the new enterprise-wide platform supporting community partnerships
  • flash talks by people like you doing CE work at the UW
  • Working sessions on related topics
• Why: This is a quarterly opportunity to connect with UW faculty and staff who practice, support, or are interested in community engagement; to explore what’s happening across the university in this space; and to generate ideas and share perspectives for building the university’s capacity for community-engaged scholarship, teaching and learning.
