Building the UW’s capacity for CE documentation and assessment: CCUW Fall 2025 Update

Community Connect UW (CCUW) is a database and management platform that allows UW faculty, staff, students and community partners to connect, organize, and understand impacts of collaboration.

Fall 2025 Update

This autumn, we’re rolling out the platform to support community-engaged courses. We are also exploring new uses such as:

  • Civic Health Scorecard, piloting on the Seattle campus
  • screenshot of Community Connect UW webpageInternships, piloting on the Bothell campus
  • “courses” for community partner field supervisors, piloting on the Tacoma campus

We have been working hard to provide as much support as possible for UW administrators, UW members, and community partners through trainings, demos, guides and step-by-step instructions:

We are also building a documentation and assessment framework for community engagement, which CCUW will be instrumental in operationalizing.

By the Numbers:

  • >8,000 students, faculty, staff across 3 campuses
  • >300 community partners
  • >400 positions, events and opportunities
  • >2000 “impacts” of hours or deliverables
  • 27 fall courses and many programs

Over the next two quarters, we aim to:

  • Further support community-engaged courses
  • Foster the nascent CCUW admin community of practice
  • Pilot the NextGen Civic Leader badge on the Seattle campus
  • Support co-curricular community engagement
  • Lay a foundation for ethical and useful documentation and assessment of community engagement
