YourClass: An Approach to Enhancing Teaching and Learning through Faculty Web Publishing

The YourClass initiative will provide the ideas, resources, tools, and training needed to support the use of technology in teaching and learning. A simple, coherent road map to Web publishing concepts and tools will support both the novice and experienced online educator. "How-to" materials will be disseminated via the Web, in print, and through UWired workshops and technology clinics. "Enhancements" will allow educators to easily tailor Web-based instructional modules to their courses, allowing them to add advanced features to their Web sites by filling out simple online forms. In addition, YourClass will include a clearinghouse for resources on the effective use of technology in teaching--linking teaching challenges with instructional strategies using technology--and highlighting innovative campus educators. The YourClass initiative is being developed at the UWired Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology, and will be launched in Winter 1999.
