Linking International Faculty Expertise in Health Sciences

School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy, School of Public Health & Community Medicine, School of Social Work

The LIFE Project is a collaborative proposal submitted by the Associate Deans in Health Sciences. It addresses both current and projected needs within the Health Sciences and is designed to afford students and faculty ready access to information about the global activities of each Health Sciences school. The project will also address the need to better understand the nature of the collaborative process that is needed to design an interdisciplinary database and a data-driven, web-based application to collect and make available information about the international activities of our faculty and staff.

The goal is to have a web-based questionnaire that can be used across disciplines and across schools. This questionnaire will be used to create a web site which will make connections across common interests in the international activities of the faculty the staff. This project is being designed and developed in such a way as to be expandable to other units, because it will be a valuable resource not just for health sciences students and faculty, but also many others who are seeking to expand their international horizons in research and education.
