Josh Lin joined the Office of Educational Assessment (OEA) as a web computing specialist in October 2023. With over 10 years of dedicated experience in software development and a master’s degree in information management from the University of Washington, Josh brings a wealth of expertise to the team. He enjoys solving complex problems by working with all layers of the technology stack. He loves to build appealing and high-performing web applications and services that positively impact individuals and organizations.

Prior to his role at OEA, Josh served as the lead and sole web developer at the Center for Experiential Learning and Diversity (EXPD) since 2011. He owns developing architecture, solutions & processes for managing scholarship & research applications and public service learning. His role involves developing and maintaining office-wide web applications that support program staff to manage student learning activities like undergraduate research, community engagement, and scholarship opportunities. He has successfully developed web applications that serve over half a million users and more than 200,000 applications and 100,000 service learning & internships. His work has also extended support to mentors, reviewers, staff, faculty, and community partners.

He is excited about the opportunity to join the OEA team and provide his skillset and experience to support the OEA’s mission: “improvement of educational practice through assessment of teaching and learning and through evaluation and support of educational programs and services”.
