The Cabohydrate Controversy
Acupuncture Today

1) The Carbohydrate Controversy:

Although popular diets continue to dominate the American weight loss market, the scientific evidence behind these diets is often sketchy. However, proponents of the carbohydrate controversy claim that the scientific evidence that led to the USDA Food Guide Pyramid favoring carbohydrates over fats is equally weak. High carbohydrate diets outsell most other diets and have benefited from a number of recent clinical studies proving their short-term efficacy and safety. This lecture focuses on new scientific evidence regarding energy balance, weight loss, and key principles related to popular macronutrient modified diets. Produced March 19, 2003.
