The University Provides Title VI Information and Education to Students and Employees

In a University-wide communication, the Executive Office announced the creation of a Title VI Information and Education webpage designed to educate employees and students about the protections offered under Title VI of the Civil Rights of 1964 and the University’s responsibilities.

All students and employees were encouraged to visit the new Title VI Information and Education webpage to learn about:

  • The scope of Title VI protections against discrimination and harassment based on race, color, national origin, ethnicity and ancestry
  • Examples of conduct that may violate Title VI
  • How to make a report to the University
  • How the UW addresses reports and supports those impacted
  • Scenarios involving both on- and off-campus or online conduct that could create a hostile environment

This is another action the University has taken since the President’s announcement on Jan. 15, 2025, to satisfy its obligations under the resolution agreement with the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights and strengthen its Title VI compliance.
