MyUW Mobile: New Features
MyUW Mobile gives students anywhere access to their most important information, and the latest release of new features makes the app even more useful. MyUW Mobile was first released in Autumn Quarter 2012. The mobile-friendly version of MyUW was built in response to priorities expressed by UW students and gives them access to information they said they want most while on the go.
With the release of new features, students can now:
- Check Husky Card and residential balances
- See final exam schedules
- Compare prices on required textbooks
- View information about the upcoming quarter
On average, more than 20,000 students visit MyUW daily. MyUW is the primary conduit for much of the information they regularly use to navigate the UW--from tuition balances, to course registration details, to email, to course Web sites. MyUW Mobile began taking shape in the autumn of 2011. As part of the Provost’s Two Years to Two Decades project to improve the student experience, UW-IT conducted six focus groups and surveyed more than 600 students about how they use MyUW, a vital resource for UW students.
Students reported that mobile access to MyUW information is a top priority. This confirms a dramatic increase in usage data: between summer 2011 and summer 2012, the percentage of mobile devices contacting MyUW more than doubled. The time for MyUW Mobile has clearly arrived.
