Viewing and Sorting Folders and Folder Contents

Help Center File Manager Help Center Viewing and Sorting Folders and Folder Contents

The folder contents page shows all the folders and files that the selected folder contains. You can view the contents of the folder in three ways: details view, list view, and icons view.

To move to the folder contents page and view the contents of a folder, click a folder once to open the flyout menu, and select View Contents. You can also click move (next to the folder name) to open the folder view.

To change views, click one of the view tabs (described below):

moveDetails view displays the folders and files that the selected folder contains organized into a table showing the file type, size, and last modified date for each.

moveList view displays the folders and files that the selected folder contains by name, organized into columns.

moveIcons view displays the folders and files that the selected folder contains using icons associated with the file type. Images, such as gifs and jpgs, are displayed as a thumbnail.

You can sort your folders and files while in the folder contents page. You can sort by name, type, size, and last modified date. Follow these steps to sort your folder view:

  1. Click the column header, such as Name, Type, Size, or Modified to sort by that header. An arrow will appear next to the header to indicate the current sort criteria and order.
  2. Click the arrow to reverse the sort order. An up arrow Up Arrow indicates ascending order and a Down arrow down arrow indicates descending order.
