The University of Washington: Facilities Services

Welcome to Dial-a-Ride

What is Dial-A-Ride?

Dial-A-Ride is a complimentary shared-ride service that provides rides between designated stop locations within the UW Seattle campus for UW students, staff, faculty, and visitors who have mobility limitations.

Where are Dial-A-Ride stops located?

Designated stops are situated throughout the UW Seattle campus in order to provide passengers access between buildings and residence halls. Stops are identified by reflective blue and white Dial-A-Ride signs containing their stop numbers. Stop locations can be found on the following map references:

  • Google Maps

  • Campus Mobility Route Map

  • What are the hours of operation?

Rides are offered Monday - Friday at twenty minute intervals, beginning at 8:05 a.m. with the last ride time offered at 7:25 p.m.

    How do I use Dial-a-Ride?

First time riders should call 206-685-1511 between 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday to request a ride. When requesting a ride for the first time, the program coordinator will enroll the passenger in the program and follow up with a welcome email. Calls made after office hours will be returned on the following business day.

Passengers who need to use Dial-A-Ride for more than four (4) weeks are required to obtain a referral from Disabilities Services. Disabilities Services can be reached at the following office numbers to schedule a referral appointment:

How do I request rides once I am registered?

Once registered, passengers may submit ride requests by phone or through our Online Ride Request Form. Please allow at least one hour advance notice when requesting same-day rides. Ride requests are not guaranteed until the program coordinator confirms availability via phone or email.

What if I need a ride after the office has closed, between 4 p.m. and 7:25 p.m.?

For same-day evening rides between 4 p.m. - 7:25 p.m., passengers are invited to call our evening driver at 206-730-0794 who will help coordinate a pickup.

Is there anything else I should know?

Because scheduled times are departure times, passengers are asked to be ready prior to departure in order to help Dial-A-Ride drivers maintain their schedules. Cancellations should be made at least an hour in advance in order to make the time slot available to other potential riders. Passengers are encouraged to call the Dial-A-Ride office for flexible scheduling assistance.

    Passenger User Agreement

The Dial-A-Ride program is committed to providing convenient and flexible scheduling and customer service. In return, the Dial-A-Ride program asks passengers to be on time to rides and cancel scheduled rides no less than one hour prior in order to open availability to other passengers. By using the Dial-A-Ride service passengers agree to adhere to our Passenger User Agreement.
