Visitor and Guest Parking

Hosting a visitor

If you are expecting a visitor and want to pay for their parking, you may choose from several options. Please visit our departmental parking products page to learn more.

Visiting campus

When you come to campus and need to park please stop by a staffed gatehouse to purchase a permit. Gatehouses are conveniently located across campus at the following locations:

  • Northeast 45th Street and Memorial Way (17th Avenue Northeast) by the Burke Museum
  • 15th Avenue Northeast and Stevens Way by Meany Hall
  • Pend Oreille Road, off of 25th Avenue Northeast, near University Village Shopping Center
  • Columbia Road, behind the University of Washington Medical Center
  • 15th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 41st Street, underground in the Central Plaza Garage.

Gatehouses are open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m., and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. until noon. Gatehouses are closed on University of Washington holidays. Our parking specialists are happy to assign a parking lot for the day depending on your destination. Please ask about disability parking and building access information if needed.

Be Sure to Read the Signs! Parking is enforced on all days at all times so please make sure you park legally.

Gatehouse-issued Permits

Gatehouse permits are sold via a pay-on-entry system. This means that the customer pays the full parking rate at the time of purchase and may return to a gatehouse for a prorated refund if the visit is less than four hours.

Self-serve parking

A few locations on campus have self-service parking machines, similar to those found on City of Seattle streets. Please visit our self-serve parking page for more information. Be sure to read the instructions on the machine!
