How to purchase

All permit purchases must be made in-person at Transportation Services. For office hours and directions please contact us.

All customers must bring in or submit their vehicle registration online in order to purchase a parking product. Please contact Transportation Services before coming to office.

Students

Students can purchase daytime or evening parking permits, as well as motorcycle permits. Parking lot availability changes based on occupancy levels and whether or not the permit is for evening parking (after 4 p.m.) or daytime parking (before 4 p.m.) Students must present a copy of the vehicle registration at the time of purchase.

Overflow lots

The lot printed on your permit is considered your primary lot assignment. Your permit guarantees parking on campus. It does not guarantee a space in your primary lot. If your assigned lot is full and you have a quarterly or annual SOV or carpool permit, or use Individual Commuter Tickets (ICTs), you can automatically park in your overflow lot for the day, without visiting a gatehouse for reassignment. If your assigned lot does not have an overflow lot listed, please go to a campus gatehouse to be reassigned to a different lot for the day, or you may park in E18.

*Portage Bay Garage (PBG) uses the pay-per-use parking (PPUP) system instead of hang tag permits. At all times, PPUP users must obtain an out-of-area permit from any campus gatehouse to park in a different lot (except E1, which PPUP members can swipe their Husky Card to access). Neglecting to do so may result in receiving a parking citation. Cycles are not allowed in the Portage Bay Garage. If attempting to park a cycle as a PPUP member, please visit a campus gatehouse to obtain an alternate vehicle permit to park out of area.

Unrestricted Parking Areas

Out-of-area parking in unrestricted areas is allowed after 4 p.m. weekdays and on Saturday mornings, with display of an Individual Commuter Ticket (ICT) or a daytime annual or quarterly SOV or carpool permit. E18 Value Permits are not eligible for unrestricted parking areas or out of area parking.

Individuals with Pay-Per-Use parking or AVI cards may use unrestricted areas but must stop at a campus gatehouse to have their parking validated.

Please check signage in the lot carefully before you park. The lots in the chart below are unrestricted, except for certain parking stalls within these lots that may be painted or signed as restricted to certain types of permits or uses (for example, reserved spaces, University Vehicle spaces, and disability spaces). Numbered pay-by-space stalls fall into this category, and are not available for permit parking; parking in these stalls must be paid for at the pay machine.
