Transportation Services staff are available to help you at gatehouses Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. until noon.
Faculty and staff requiring long-term disability accommodations must contact the Disability Services Office at 206-543-6450. If you already have a state disability placard present it along with the accompanying confirmation letter to the Disability Services Office when making your request. You will be issued a short-term disability parking permit at Transportation Services while your request for accommodation is being reviewed.

Temporary disability parking
Parking accommodations for faculty, staff or students with temporary disabilities are issued upon request at Transportation Services. Parking permits for disabled areas cost the same as other UW parking areas. For prices, visit our rates page.
Dial-A-Ride, is available to faculty, staff and students who have either permanent or temporary mobility limitations. The shuttles operate on campus and in the University District. To determine if you are eligible for this service visit our Dial-A-Ride webpage.

Disability parking for visitors
Ask for disability parking and building access information at any gatehouse. A parking stall will be assigned as close to your destination as possible. Gatehouses are staffed weekdays from 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. until noon. Visitor parking is available in the Central Plaza Garage which can be entered from 15th Ave NE at NE 41st St. Download a wayfinding map for this garage. Parking permits for disabled and wheelchair areas cost the same as other UW parking areas (see current fee schedule).
Disability parking restrictions
Disability/wheelchair parking permit holders may not park in the following locations:
- Disability or wheelchair spaces or lots other than in their assigned lot
- Restricted at “All Times, All Days” parking spaces or areas
- Reserved parking spaces
- Spaces marked University Vehicles Only, Physical Plant Vehicles Only, Service Vehicles Only and Truck Only
- Lot C14
- Lot C17
- The Triangle Garage or the Surgery Pavilion Garage (parking is available but managed by the UWMC with different rules)
Wheelchair (WC) disability permits holders may park in any wheelchair or disability space. Holders of Disability (D) Permits may park in disability areas but not in wheelchair spaces. Wheelchair and Disability permit holders may also park in other available regular spaces in their assigned parking area.
UWMC disability parking
Oversized vehicles (up to 7’5”) may park in the South Campus Garage (S1). UWMC patients or visitors must purchase a parking permit at a campus gatehouse prior to parking in S1. The permit must be displayed on the dashboard and visible from outside the vehicle.
Parking procedures are different in the Triangle and Surgery Pavilion Garages, which are managed by the medical center. The hospital’s parking validation program is available to all UWMC patients and visitors, disabled or not. For more information about these garages, visit the UWMC parking page.
