Purpose

Campus Engineering and Operations provides engineering support, and continuous, reliable operations of building systems and the campus utilities infrastructure for the University of Washington.

Services

Campus Engineering

  • Campus Engineering provides professional engineering support for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of all University facilities - to assure a safe, healthy, efficient and effective environment in support of the University’s teaching, research and public service programs.

Campus Operations

  • Campus Operations maintains and operates critical building systems including fire/life safety systems, elevator systems, building environmental systems and controls, central clock systems, high voltage distribution systems. Campus Operations provides emergency maintenance response service to the Seattle campus community, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through radio, cell and paging dispatch systems, and coordinates the utility shutdown program.

  • Campus Utilities produces steam, emergency electrical power, chilled water, and compressed air for the Seattle campus
