UW Recycling has a reuse program for Styrofoam and other types of packing peanuts. Offices and labs that generate large volumes of packing peanuts can contact UW Recycling to establish a collection system, which is a PVC pipe frame on which a packing peanut bag hangs. Offices and labs that generate small volumes of packing peanuts should refer to the procedures for packing peanuts for more information.
If you have a collection system in place, use this form to request additional bags. Bags are sent through campus mail. Please allow up to 5 business days for delivery.
These bags should be used only for collection of packing peanuts; please avoid contamination. Close full bags securely with tape and place them at your building's loading dock. For staff within Health Sciences, bring your full bags to one of the following locations:
Note: polystyrene or Styrofoam blocks are not recyclable and should be placed in your waste container. For large quantities, contact UW Recycling to make special arrangements.
UW Recycling responds to all container requests within 2 business days. If you do not receive a response within that time, please resend your request.
