For information about disposal procedures on the Seattle campus, choose from the list below. For items not listed, contact Recycling & Solid Waste.

Be sure to consult the appropriate UW Records Retention Schedule before disposing of any records (documents, photographs, slides, audiotapes, videotapes, CDs/DVDs, etc.) In addition, all items purchased with University funds that are no longer needed by a department, whether they are in working or non-working condition, must be transferred to Surplus for proper disposal.

Note: because the University of Washington is a commercial account, some disposal rules and regulations on campus are different than those at private residences.
