A Mission of Green
UW Recycling & Solid Waste was recently awarded a 2011 Husky Green award.

Husky Green AwardThe award, sponsored by the Environmental Stewardship Advisory Committee, recognizes UW individuals and groups who demonstrate leadership, initiative and dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainability. Recycling & Solid Waste joined two students, one employee and a student association in receiving an award during the 2011 Earth Day celebration in Red Square.

“UW Recycling & Solid Waste has made great strides towards creating environmental norms on campus by making it easy and providing resources for people to reduce their landfill waste," said David Corrado, chair of the Campus Sustainability Fund, who made the nomination.

“We’re honored to be among this year’s recipients,” said Eric Johnson, Manager of Recycling & Solid Waste. “The recognition highlights our ongoing mission to minimize waste and maximize recycling. I’m extremely proud of our team and our mission.”
