We support the University of Washington community with custodial, recycling and solid waste services and programs that promote a healthy, environmentally sustainable campus.

Department Initiatives

UW Building Services strives to be a world-class leader by continuously improving and refining processes. Some current initiatives include:

• Lean Process
  Building Services is implementing Lean to gain efficiencies and eliminate redundencies in processes.
• Balanced Scorecard
  The balanced scorecard is a framework that allows us to connect our mission and vision in a strategic approach that balances customer needs, financial resources, business processes, and developing staff.
• 5S Process
  The Custodial Services 5S initiative ensures that custodial closets are consistently clean and organized, making the best use of space. See our project newsletters for more information.
