Making Faculty Connections

Nurse

The Nursing Program hosted “Making Faculty Connections,” an invitational consortium on March 6. The one-day workshop gave participants time and activities to develop cross-institutional faculty conversations and provided information and resources for nurse educators. Additionally, MN alumnae Kim Dotson, MN ’04, and Nancy Whittier, MN ‘04, presented an overview of their publication, Survival Guide for New Nursing Faculty.

The workshop was funded by the Congressionally directed grant: An Initiative to Train Nursing Faculty in Partnership with a Consortium of Colleges—sponsored by U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee and Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell—which recently received funding for fiscal year '09. The grant also provides tuition support for 11 community and technical college faculty currently enrolled in the UW Bothell MN program.

Fast fact: Did you know that 15 current UW Bothell MN students and 11 MN alumni are instructors or faculty members in our regional associate of nursing degree programs?
