The University of Washington Bothell and Cascadia Community College Library hosted an event on May 17 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the UW Libraries and to thank Norm and Louise Rose for their 150th gift of Alaskan and Pacific Northwest Native American Art to the University of Washington Bothell Library Rose Art Collection.  The Rose Collection highlights the work of Alaskan and Pacific Northwest Native artists.

The work "Raven's Journey" is by Marvin Oliver (Quinault/Isleta Pueblo), UW Professor in American Indian Studies since 1974 and Adjunct Curator of Contemporary Native American Art at the Burke Museum. Oliver has a B.A. from San Francisco State University and a M.F.A. from the University of Washington, which he received in 1973. He is one of the Northwest Coast’s foremost contemporary sculptors and printmakers with a career spanning over 40 years.
