Services

The Technology Recharge Fee (TRF) was established in 2010 to provide a sustainable long-term funding model for critical information technology services at the UW. The fee is a per capita rate paid by all UW academic and administrative units to supplement existing central funds, which pay for the basic services. See TRF archive and history.

Technology Recharge Fee Rates for FY 2015

The FY 2015 Technology Recharge Fee is effective July 1, 2014, and remains unchanged from the previous fiscal year at:

  • $54.50 per month per capita for all academic and administrative units.
  • $50.00 per month per capita for the Medical Centers.

Technology Fee Review and Rate Setting Process

The IT Service Investment Board (Board) was charged by the Provost with reviewing the fee level and methodology for FY 2015. The Provost approved the Board's recommendation to maintain the FY 2014 TRF rates

As part of its previous fiscal year annual review, the Board recommended that UW-IT maintain the same methodology for the TRF for Fiscal Years 2014 and 2015 and continue with the same basic bundle of services, including the Microsoft Campus Licensing Agreement. The Board's recommendation reflected the advice of the Technology Recharge Fee Advisory Committee, comprised of UW School and College administrators representing academic and administrative units and UW Medical Centers, which provides the Board with in-depth analysis and counsel.

Self-Sustaining Services and Rates

Additional IT services are offered by UW-IT on a self-sustaining basis (at an additional fee). The rates for these are under review by UW Management Accounting & Analysis (MAA). FY 2015 rates will be posted when available. The current service offerings and rates are as follows:

Refund Policy

UW Information Technology (UW-IT) strives for accuracy in billing but recognizes that discrepancies may occur. At a customer's request, UW-IT will review a charge when notified within 90 days of the charge appearing in MyFinancial.desktop (MyFD). If it is determined that the charge was made in error by UW-IT, a reverse charge will be issued to refund the customer. Request a refund.
