Selected Topics in Family and Child Nursing

In-depth examination of the literature pertinent to major theoretical issues in parent and child nursing. Seminar with analysis and discussion of selected topics and readings. Implications for research, prevention, and healthcare stressed. Prerequisite: permission of instructor.

Class description

Students will examine historical contributions to field of infant mental health and evaluate them for inclusion into a working framework of infant mental health.

Students will increase their knowledge of attachment theory and research and relate these to a working framework of infant mental health.

Students will increase their knowledge of research relevant to infant mental health and become familiar with sources to remain current regarding relevant researc

Students will increase their knowledge of prenatal and infant development within a framework of infant mental health, and become familiar with sources to remain current regarding relevant research in this area.
