Instructor Class Description

Time Schedule:

Marco Rolandi
MSE 520
Seattle Campus

Seminar

Review of research problems in recent literature. Registration required for all graduate students. Credit/no-credit only. Offered: AWSp.

Class description

1 Make sure you sign the attendance sheet at the beginning of each seminar. This will be the only record of your seminar attendance.

2 You are required to attend all the seminars and you are allowed to miss at most 2. If you miss more than two seminars for reasons either than family emergencies or medical emergencies (need to send me an email), you will not receive credit for this class.

Addendum

3. If extenuating circumstances, either than the ones listed above, arise, you might miss a total of 3 seminars but you will be required to write a 2 page (single spaced) paper on a topic related to one of the seminars that you did not attend. This "buyout" is only valid for 1 absence more than the two allowed (max 3 absences total) and requires my approval.

You will need to submit (email preferred) the paper before the end of the quarter to receive credit. No grade but only CR/NO CR will be assigned to the paper. If NOCR is issued, the buyout won't be valid and you will receive NOCR for the course. If time allows(before end of quarter), you may be asked to rewrite a NOCR paper to receive CR on it.
