Research seminar in early American History, 1600-1875.
This seminar will study different approaches to the writing of history by exploring a variety of theoretical approaches to writing history as well as the work of historians who put the theory into historical practice. Students can expect to learn about a variety of approaches to the writing of history, and will be expected to experiment, methodologically, with their own work.
