Ballet Technique II

Advanced-beginning level.Continued development of all beginning areas. Expansion of ballet vocabulary. Prerequisite: either DANCE 201 or DANCE 202.

Class description

The objective of the class is to broaden the beginning dance student’s knowledge of ballet dance techniques. Class focuses on anatomically sound technique, with respect for individual physical limitations. Course emphasizes knowledge of ballet vocabulary, sound alignment, deep muscular core support, and efficient movement mechanics, as well as qualitative and expressive musical phrasing.
