Transcripts: How to Order Your University of Washington Transcript

Ordering an Official UW Transcript by mail
To order your University of Washington transcript by mail, please
provide the following information with your request:
- Your full name and address and any names you formerly used;
- Your University of Washington student number or your social security
number;
- Your date of birth;
- Your approximate dates of attendance at the University of Washington;
- Your daytime telephone number or email address;
- The address or addresses where you want your University of Washington
transcript sent;
- Your signature on the letter;
- Include a check or money order to cover the $4 per copy transcript fee, payable to the University of Washington.
- If you prefer to pay by credit card, we accept Visa/Master Card only. Both the
card number and the expiration date must be included. Please include a
daytime phone number or an email address so we can reach you quickly if
there is a problem.
- You may fax a transcript request to the Transcript Office. The fax number is
206-616-3222. Please allow 48 hours before checking on the fax request,
as the staff needs time to process it.
- The Transcript Office cannot accept e-mail or telephone requests for
transcripts.

Ordering an Official UW Transcript in person
To order your University of Washington transcript in person, come to the
Transcript Request Window, 225 Schmitz Hall and
complete a transcript order form. Same day pick up is possible for
1-5 copies of your official transcript. There is a $4 per copy transcript
fee that is payable after you complete the order. Payment is accepted by
check, money order or credit card. We accept Visa or MasterCard. If you
need to pay in cash, complete the order form
at the Transcript Request Window, then pay the fee at Student Fiscal
Services, 129 Schmitz Hall. Student Fiscal Services is open from
9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Ordering an Official UW Transcript via MyUW
Currently registered students may
order official transcripts here or through Student Personal Services
on MyUW. Transcripts are printed each business night (Monday-Friday,
excluding holidays). Transcripts ordered on a Friday or over the weekend
will be processed the next working day. A $4 per copy transcript fee is
added to your student account. Please check your unofficial transcript on
MyUW before ordering to see the grades and/or degree are posted.
Ordering an Official UW Transcript via the Web for
former* students and all students not
currently
registered
To order your transcript you will need a UW net ID. As a former
student, you may already have a UW NetID. Your UW NetID remains the same
throughout your life. If you know your UW NetID and password you may
order your official transcripts here or through Student Personal
Services on MyUW.
If you are uncertain what your UW
NetID was or if you attended the University prior to the establishment of
UW NetIDs, go to Your
UWNetID.
You will need your Student Number and Private Access Code (PAC) to access
or create your UW NetID. If you don't know or can't remember your PAC,
contact the Registration Office, 225 Schmitz Hall or call 206-543-8580.
You will also need to provide a Visa or MasterCard number and expiration
date. Transcripts are $4.00 per copy.
Transcripts are printed each business night (Monday through Friday,
excluding holidays).
Transcripts ordered on a Friday or over the weekend, will be processed the
next working day.
* Transcripts for students
whose
last quarter of
attendance was
prior to 1983 are not available using this Web
service.
Additional information when ordering your transcript
- Current students should check their unofficial transcript via MyUW
before ordering a transcript to make sure the grades and/or degrees are
posted.
- Your transcript request by mail will be processed within 3 to
5 days after being received by the Transcript Office.
- If you order your transcript in person and would like it mailed, it
will be processed within 3 to 5 days after your request is submitted.
- Your transcript will not be issued until all holds have been removed and all
outstanding bills have been paid to the University of Washington;
- If your transcript is to be used for official purposes, it should be
sent from the University of Washington directly to the school or agency;
- If your transcript is sent directly to you, it is enclosed in an
envelope and sealed on the back - which may not satisfy an official
request for your transcript;
- If you have any questions about a transcript you have already
ordered, and it has been at least 3 weeks since the placement
of your order, please call the Registration Office, (206) 543-8580,
weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Transcripts from other colleges cannot be provided to University of
Washington students;
- The Transcript Office accepts Visa and MasterCard. If ordering by
credit card, include the number and the expiration date in your letter or
fax to the Transcript Office. The fax number is 206-616-3222. Make sure
you sign the request and send a daytime phone number or an e-mail address
so we can reach you quickly if there is a problem.
Unofficial UW Transcript
Currently registered students, students not currently registered, and
former students admitted 1983 to the present, may access unofficial
transcripts on
MyUW through Student Personal
Services. Use your UW NetID and password to access MyUW.
You may request a copy of
your your unofficial transcript in person from the Transcript Request
Window, 225 Schmitz Hall or the Undergraduate Gateway Center, 171 Mary
Gates Hall. The unofficial transcript is issued at no charge and you may
request one per day. Unofficial transcripts are not faxed or sent via
email.
(Students enrolled prior to 1983, may not have an electronic transcript
and more time should be allowed for accessing these records. These
transcripts are only available from the Transcript Request Window, 225
Schmitz Hall.)
