Provides an overview of all disabling conditions including low and high incidence disabilities. Examines the nature of various disabilities, program implications, and the continuum of delivery options available to special education students.
Class description
This course will provide the learner with an overview of the basic tenants of special education, issues of working with families from diverse backgrounds, high and low incidence disability categories and functional implications for each area. The learner will a knowledge base of resources for each disability category and will be given community resources for future use in the classroom.
