TCXIN 479 Modern European Culture and Society

Surveys the history of modern European culture from the rise of the bourgeoisie in the wake of the French Revolution to WWI. Explores the intersection between art, literature, music, theater, film, popular culture, and intellectual thought with a focus on representatives of the avant-garde.
