Revolution, Industrialization, and Modernity in European Culture 1760-1870

Covers cultural developments in Europe from the Industrial Revolution to the Frano-Prussian War. Emphasizes the analysis of social, economic, and political conditions – such as industrial progress and the struggle for democratic forms of government – as key influences on cultural production and its expression of the experience of modernity.

TCXIN 478 Revolution, Industrialization, and Modernity in European Culture Covers artistic developments in Europe from the proto-industrialization of the eighteenth century through the impact of the Franco-Prussian War at the end of the nineteenth century. Emphasizes the analysis of social, economic, and political conditions -- such as industrial progress and the struggle for democratic forms of government -- as key influences on cultural production and its expression of the experience of modernity.
