Systematic study of specialized subject matter. Topics vary for each quarter, depending upon current interest and needs, and are announced in the preceding quarter. Prerequisite: permission of instructor.
Class description
Transportation Survey Methods will cover essential components in a transportation data collection effort. The specific topics will include:
1. Sampling procedures (probability sampling vs. non-probability sampling) 2. Survey adminstration methods (mail-out/mail-back, telephone, face-to-face, web-based etc) 3. Types of data components (revealed preference and stated preference/choice) 4. Types of data (cross-sectional, time-series, panel data) 5. experimental design
