Fundamentals of oral and written Swedish. First in a sequence of three.
Välkommen till Svenska 101!! Welcome to Swedish 101!! We in the Department of Scandinavian Studies believe that the primary goal of language instruction should be the development of communication skills. Through our approach, we hope to achieve a high degree of interaction in the classroom that will make your learning of Swedish enjoyable. We would like to teach you how to communicate in Swedish and at the same time, to help you explore Sweden’s culture and rich history, as well as the daily life and the mentality of the Swedish people. We will teach you the language as it is spoken and written in Sweden today. We will give equal emphasis to all five language skills: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and culture. As class time is an invaluable resource for practicing language skills, attendance is essential to your success in this course.
