Student learning goals

General method of instruction

Observation, interview, and by students asking questions at allotted times during the day. Please be careful not to overwhelm the school SLP your first day out. Be proactive and request a half hour slot during your day there to ask questions and get information about tx philosophy, specific cases etc.

Recommended preparation

This course is designed to assist you with transitioning to the working world. Keep that in mind as you observe. Remember that you may not agree with everything a supervisor does for therapy or what they write in their paperwork, and that's OK. You're job is to go with the flow, question gently only as necessary, and decide for yourself what you will take away from this experience and what you will leave behind.

Class assignments and grading

This course is credit/no credit only.

The information above is intended to be helpful in choosing courses. Because the instructor may further develop his/her plans for this course, its characteristics are subject to change without notice. In most cases, the official course syllabus will be distributed on the first day of class.
