Survey of Spanish Literature: 1681 to the Present

Prerequisite: either SPAN 301, SPAN 302, SPAN 303, 310, SPAN 314, SPAN 315, SPAN 316, or SPAN 330.

Class description

We will read a representative sample of peninsular poetry, fiction and drama. Authors included: Jorge Manrique, Quevedo, Góngora, Bécquer, Pardo Bazán, Rosa Montero, Juan José Millás, García Lorca, Dámaso Alonso and Ana Rosetti.

Requirements: two take-home essay exams, reading quizzes, class participation.
