Class description
Drug abuse and addiction issues are pervasive in the delivery of health and social services. These issues affect individuals' need for and response to such services. Practitioners need information both about the signs and symptoms of drug addiction and about treatment options for addicted individuals. This class, which also incorporates web-based learning will provide students with an updated look at the neurochemistry of drug use, comprehensive knowledge about how chronic drug use, including alcohol, affects human behavior and current treatment options for addicted individuals.
