Class description
The course will cover the process behind publishing journal articles and the student will prepare a journal article for submission. The class covers the reasons for scientific journals, examples, impact on science, how to prepare and submit a manuscript, duties of editors, associate editors and reviewers. The primary goal of the course is to move a student's own journal article along the process, ideally to the point of submission by the end of the quarter.

Class will meet about once a week, as needed. Days and times will be arranged.
Recommended preparation
Normally graduate status, data potentially suitable for creating a journal article.
Class assignments and grading
Grading is assigned on the basis of how much progress is made during the quarter.
