Class description
The course will explore the intersection of faith, fate, existence, and ethics in Scandinavian literature (Søren Kierkegaard, J. P. Jacobsen, Per Olov Enquist, Hans Christian Andersen, Karen Blixen, Pär Lagerkvist, Villy Sørensen, and others) and film (Carl Th. Dreyer, Ingmar Bergman). The ethical-philosophical readings include Kierkegaard, Emmanuel Levinas, and K.E.Løgstrup.
