Class description
The purpose of this 5-week seminar in the second half of spring quarter is to provide Master’s students of the Jackson School of International Studies with professional development training to assist in preparing for a career. Students will hear from practitioners and specialists about topics such as writing a policy memo, giving presentations and preparing for a career search. Permission from the instructor necessary for enrollment.
Student learning goals
Assignments will provide key tools for your job search (a revised resume, cover letter, writing sample, etc) as well as tips for job-hunting, human subjects training, and understanding governmental structures.
General method of instruction
Lectures will be given by practitoners.
Recommended preparation
MAIS student.
Class assignments and grading
Students will submit a policy memo, cover letter, resume, cultural taboos assignment as well as present on the memo.
