Winter Quarter 2005 SISRE 490B Non-Proliferation and Atomic Energy as Global Issues: A Russian Perspective 5 credits W 230-520 Instructors: Jones, Pshakhin and Sosnin
This course presents the non-proliferation curriculum being developed for Obninsk Technical University. The course considers the scientific-technical dimensions of nuclear weapons development from a global perpsective. It will then address questions of national and international safeguards for fissile materials; arms control treaties; the problem of nuclear terrorism; and future prospects for the development of atomic energy for civilian use.
