Class description
We will survey the physics of quantum degenerate gases, including the basic science, experimental techniques, and applications.
Student learning goals
General method of instruction
Each class will consist of a lecture and discussions with contact made to recommended readings.
Recommended preparation
Undergraduate-level quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, and statistical mechanics.
Class assignments and grading
Readings and problems will be recommended. You will be required to prepare and deliver one 30 to 45 minute presentation on a relevant topic of your choice.
Class participation and the presentation.
