Introduces incoming graduate students to topics representative of the field and the faculty's interest. Each class session is devoted to a separate topic taught by a different member of the faculty. In addition to reading and short written assignments, students prepare a term paper on a topic presented. Offered: A.
Class description
This is a workshop class in which philosophy graduate students in the third year and beyond share drafts of dissertation proposals and chapters. Students will be required to present their own work at least once, and will be expected to read the work of others carefully to provide constructive feedback. This is a credit/no credit course.
