PHIL 433
Seattle Campus
Study of several major Aristotelian treatises.
Class description
This course is a survey of Aristotle's philosophy. We begin with topics in Aristotle's metaphysics tracing his progress from the Categories back to a mitigated Platonism in the Metaphysics and De Anima and work our way toward (and through, I hope) his doctrines concerning ethics and moral psychology. TEXT: "Aristotle: Selections", Terence Irwin and Gail Fine, translators.
